REGISTER YOUR CHILD

LSQ Kids is a community of children, parents, and volunteers who love God and each other. We seek to be a safe and fun place for all children to be known, valued and equipped with foundational gospel knowledge to prepare them for a lifetime of worship and missional-living in New York City.

We desire that each child:

  • Experiences the beauty of the gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Cares for the needs of their neighbors and city
  • Values worship, prayer, and Scripture
  • Feels valued as a member of the LSQ community

We desire that each parent:

  • Serves as the primary disciple-maker(s) of their children
  • Feels supported and encouraged by the LSQ community
  • Volunteers with LSQ Kids (we are a startup!) regularly for relational and communal growth

We seek to be a safe and fun place for all children to be known, valued and equipped with foundational gospel knowledge to prepare them for a lifetime of worship and missional-living in New York City.

Check-in information

For the safety and security of your children, all parents must check in their children prior to attending worship.

Nursery through Pre-K

  • Children nursery through Pre-K meet on the 2nd floor of the YMCA. Please enter on W. 64th Street directly next to the NY Society for Ethical Culture.

  • Check-in opens 30 minutes prior to the service, and closes 30 minutes after the service begins. iPad check-in stations are located next to the stroller parking area. A greeter will be available to assist you.

  • At check-in, you and your child will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag at all times. Please hold on to your security tag! You will need your security tag to access the ministry hallways and to pick up your children.

  • Once you have checked in, you will drop off your nursery or preschool-aged child on the 2nd floor beginning at 10 AM. You need to have your security tag when dropping off your child. Volunteers will be available to assist you in finding the correct room.

  • When picking up your child, you will need to show your matching tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

  • If you are needed during the service, one of our staff will page you by texting the number associated with your child in our database.  Please make sure we have your updated information.

Kindergarten through fifth grade

  • Check-in for kindergarten through fifth graders can be found at a kiosk in the lobby of NY Society for Ethical Culture.

  • Elementary kids first through fifth grade attend the service with parents and are dismissed to their classes from the service during announcements. When the worship leader announces that kids are dismissed, kids can find their elementary teachers waiting in the back of the sanctuary. Teachers then escort elementary kids down to the Fellowship Hall directly below the sanctuary.

  • When picking up your child, you will need to show your matching tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

  • If you are needed during the service, one of our staff will page you by texting the number associated with your child in our database.  Please make sure we have your updated information.

Security Policy for Sunday School Classes

To ensure the safety of our children, we only allow those with pre-printed security tags to enter the ministry hallways. These are obtained from the point of check-in.

No child is ever allowed to be left alone with one adult. Either the parent or guardian must be present or at least two adults must be present.

Why volunteer with the Children’s Ministry?

  • Invested: Children are the next generation of influencers for Christ in New York and around the world.
  • Called: God has given each of us talents to share with others. This is a great place to share your gifts.
  • Equipped: Whether you come with training or receive training as you serve with us, your skills and experience will affect families of Redeemer each week.
  • Needed: The number of children who attend Redeemer has doubled in the last few years. We need you!
  • Community: Your investment in the lives of families and fellow volunteers at Redeemer allows for deeper community. One parent expressed how the community of Children’s Ministry volunteers helps their family stay in the city.

Apply to serve our Children’s Ministry

In order to best equip our volunteers and ensure the safety of all, we have the following application process:

Expectations we have for our volunteers

  • Completion of the application process as explained above.
  • Teams: Once you join the Children’s Ministry, you are placed on a team. You serve with your team every other week in the same classroom. This is to build deeper community with your teammates and with the children.
  • Nursery parents are asked to volunteer a minimum of three times a year.
  • We count on you. Promptness and appropriate preparation are required.
  • Adherence to Children’s Ministry policies.

What you can expect from us

  • Free annual MP3 subscription or free CD on the Sunday you serve.
  • Fellowship and community with other volunteers and Redeemer families.
  • Service and training opportunities.
  • Prayer from Redeemer’s Prayer Team for your volunteer team.
  • Most importantly: joy in knowing you are impacting the lives of children for all eternity!
